Friday 15th May - Daintree
Jamilah: Today at breakfast I got to put a little turtle into a pond. I had to hold the turtle by its shell and it kept trying to push my hand away with its foot - it has very sharp claws. Then we went to drop Mummy off at a golf course, and then Daddy and I went across the Daintree river on a ferry and we went to an ice cream company where we tried four different flavoured ice creams. My favourite one was the Blueberry flavoured one. Then we went to Cape Tribulation where we saw a beach near where Capt Cook ran aground. After that we went to an insect place where we saw the hugest Beetles in the world - they were massive. They had a wingspan of about 30cm and their body was about 5cm in width and in length 8-10cm. We went into a big greenhouse place where there were lots of beautiful butterflies and a little brown kept landing on my nose. There was a beautiful dying butterfly on the floor and I tried to turn it over the right way, but each time I tried it rolled back over again onto its back. Then we went back across the river to pick up Mummy from the golf course. We went to visit the town of Mossman, but there wasn’t much to see there so we ended up just having some sandwiches. Then we went back to our hotel.
